AI in Content Marketing

The “AI can create content for you” train is overhyped.

But - to ignore the insane advancements would be silly.

Today - I’m sharing a few examples of where I see AI effectively helping content creation.

Use AI to Mimic Your Writing Style

I can spot GPT written copy from a mile away.

But Peter and Noah from The Neuron shared a great breakdown.

They shared tips on using Claude to mimic any writing style. Whether it's emails, blogs, memos, scripts, or press releases - Claude can do it.

Here's the playbook:

1. Feed Claude 5+ samples of your writing.

2. Have Claude analyze the writing style of your samples.

3. Give Claude an outline, rough draft, or content that needs a rewrite.

Use this prompt shared by Ben Tossell (founder of Ben Bites).

Ben’s Prompt:

You are an AI writing assistant with the ability to analyze and mimic writing styles. Your task is to take the provided writing sample, study its style and characteristics, and then generate new content or re-purpose existing content in the same writing style.

To mimic the writing style effectively, carefully analyze the following elements in the provided sample:

1. Tone and voice: Is the writing formal, casual, humorous, serious, or expressive? Maintain the same tone in your generated content.

2. Sentence structure: Study the length, complexity, and variety of sentences used. Mimic these patterns in your writing.

3. Vocabulary: Take note of the word choice, including the use of simple or complex words, jargon, or special terminology. Incorporate similar vocabulary in your generated content.

4. Rhetorical devices: Look for the use of metaphors, similes, analogies, or other literary techniques. Apply these devices in your writing when appropriate.

5. Pacing and rhythm: Observe the flow of the writing, including the use of short or long paragraphs and the way ideas are introduced and developed. Maintain a similar pacing in your generated content.

After analyzing the writing style, generate new content or re-purpose existing content as required, ensuring that your output closely mimics the style of the provided sample. Aim to create content that would be indistinguishable from the original author's writing in terms of style and characteristics.

Create Presentations in 1 Hour

Here’s how I’ve seen it done:

  • Use ChatGPT (GPT-4) to condense research briefs into bite-sized scripts (<60 seconds).
  • Leverage WellSaid Labs for lifelike voiceovers.
  • Use Jitter to create video presentations.

CB Insights use this workflow to create this video: “Why Flexport’s valuation might have dropped by 80%”.

Use AI To Do One-On-One Personalization

Hubspot used GPT-4 to take personalization to the next level.

To improve the conversion rate of nurture flow, they’re recommending relevant free Hubspot courses to help leads, providing enough value so people “reciprocate” by signing up for free accounts.

  • When a person signs up, they provide information like their business URL when they fill out the form.
  • GPT-4 scrapes the website to understand the business, company size, as well as what offers they convert on, and their web browsing behavior to guess what they're trying to accomplish.
  • It then searches Hubspot’s content library to come up with the free courses that are most relevant and helpful.
  • Then, it crafts a personalized message on how they can use the course to achieve their specific goals.

The results?

  • 80%+ increase in the nurture flow’s CVR.
  • 30-50% increase in open rate and click-through rate.

Use AI for Ad Content

Under Armour's latest generative AI-powered ad is insane.

The commercial was created using AI trained on existing footage of Anthony Joshua - heavyweight boxing champion.

They didn’t shoot a single shot with him.

Tools like Arcads help you create UGC through AI actors.

If I didn’t tell you - could you tell the difference?
