Instagram Growth Hack

I got a good growth hack today to grow your IG account that barely anyone is doing. And to shoot it straight - I’m not a “growth hack” kinda guy. But every once in a while you find one that works and it’s worth using. Is this a strategy? Not really. Eventually IG will crack down on it so enjoy this for now…

Unless you’re living under a rock then you know Instagram now has a “Trial” feature where you can share your videos as a “trial” before sharing it with your followers.

With this feature, you’re able to test content ideas, formats, and types and get it in front of a net new audience and see if something sticks before pushing it to everybody. It’s a pretty good feature for idea validation.

But that’s not the best part…

So, the growth hack is leveraging the trials feature to repost your top content and only share it with people who don’t follow you.

This was shown to me by one of our Cut30 grads Tatum Brandt (one of the homies).

Tatum has been reposting all of her viral videos as a trial and it’s getting tens of thousands of views and adding hundreds of followers.

So, I did the same with one of my most recent videos that got 1.3M views and the trial video ended up getting ~100k views and adding ~500 followers.

A simple hack. Nothing to it other than re-sharing sharing your top content as a trial reel and letting IG do it’s thang.
